Bio/Artist Statement |

Born in Wisconsin in 1976, she received her BFA in 1999, where her work already began depicting celestial realms. Her lust for life has taken her to soak in the American road which over the years took her to living in Arizona and Portland, Oregon where she currently resides. When she isn't painting you can find Lisa reading, taking impromptu drives with her camera, or at the nearest Burberry store. She is deeply moved by classical music, rain, coffee and sushi. Her original paintings lie in private collections around the world.
Albinger’s work clearly reveals the influence of dreams, whether while awake or in a slumber. Her work is a direct projection onto canvas of an intense, anguished, yet luminous inner life. She weaves her life experience with scoliosis into her love for architecture, the dueling landscapes of the desert and lush northwest, and the sacred spirit ever present in animal and fantasy folklore. Lisa has created her own personal allegoric myths through stemming from her hermitic nature.
Her recent work depicts a masked unknown figure opting as St. Francis of Assisi while wearing skull horns reminiscent of the later work of Georgia O’Keefe. In its hands squirms a serpent being pulled in two directions by twin wizards of sorts. Moon magic seeps to the three adult figures as ravens quietly look on from the tucked away tree in the corner. The woman’s heart – an apple – bleeds onto a tree. With a suitcase in her hand and a clock depicting time under her feet it looks as though she’s on the move.

What is a giclée?
|
| A: |
"Giclée" is a French word (pronounced zhee-klay), meaning "sprays" or "spurts" of ink. It is used to refer to gallery/museum quality fine art reproductions that are produced with archival papers and inks using high-quality inkjet printers. Properly cared for, (no direct sunlight), you can expect a giclée to last for many years without any noticeable fading.
